'LEP review must not erode democratic accountability'

The Government’s review of LEPs is currently being rushed through, with a number of consequences for local authorities across the country.

LEPs only have until the end of September to come forward with proposals for new boundaries, with the aim of removing overlapping areas, despite these reflecting the nature of functional economic areas.
