Lack of vital worker protection ‘shameful’

Local government secretary, Robert Jenrick, has demanded that local government workers get access to crucial personal protective equipment (PPE) amid the coronavirus crisis.

Mr Jenrick said it was ‘frankly shameful’ that some frontline workers still did not have the protection they needed and is understood to have lobbied health secretary Matt Hancock for local government to gain parity with the NHS in terms of the way PPE is supplied and distributed.
