Leicester locks down after surge in coronavirus

England’s first local lockdown will begin in Leicester this week in a bid to combat a surge in COVID-19 cases.

People in Leicester and its outlying areas are to be asked to continue to follow stricter lockdown restrictions for at least two weeks.
