The provisional local government settlement was finally announced on 13 December. We heard about New Homes Bonus, business rates and negative revenue support grant, along with the 2019/20 business rates pilots.
While this exercised my district colleagues’ minds at our recent Society of District Council Treasurers’ AGM and conference, the agenda was also packed with a number of other challenges to the way we are held accountable as Section 151 officers.
