Liverpool to regain certain functions but intervention expected to continue

Liverpool City Council is set to regain control over some of its functions, but commissioners are likely to continue to intervene in specific areas after June 2024.

In a written parliamentary statement, local government minister Simon Hoare said the team of commissioners’ latest report had found the authority’s new political and officer leadership had ‘shown strength and grip as they continue to make improvemement’.
