Lloyd in cyber-attack warning after Hackney hit

The chief executive of the Local Government Association has warned the consequences of a cyber-attack are ‘greater than ever’ after Hackney LBC was hit.

In a message to councils, Mark Lloyd urged them to take regular backups that are frequently tested and stored offline, and to ensure that IT recovery plans and incident management policies have been updated and tested post-COVID.
