MHCLG spend on consultants soars

The amount of money spent on consultants by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) quadrupled in the last financial year.

According to MHCLG’s annual report and accounts, expenditure by the core department on consultancy was £19.5m in 2020-21 – up from £4.9m in 2019-20, £2.8m in 2018-19 and £336,000 in 2017-18.
