NHS chief slams 'perverse' planning rules

The chief executive of the NHS has slammed ‘perverse’ planning rules making it easier for fast food outlets to open but placing restrictions on gyms.

Sir Simon Stevens was responding to complaints from gym operators that planning laws give priority to restaurants over leisure facilities in high streets and town centres.
