No more lies on finances

Local government is lying. It is not being honest about how bad the finances are and it is deluding itself that tinkering with devolution and transformation will make the problems disappear.

That is the view of Coventry City Council chief executive Martin Reeves, who is on a mission to ‘debunk the myths’ around the dire state of public services.
