O'Brien backs multi-year settlement idea

Levelling up minister Neil O’Brien has backed the idea of a multi-year local government finance settlement in future.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr O’Brien said the Government had to have one-year settlements because of the ‘turbulence around COVID’ but added that ministers aimed to have a multi-year settlement that took account of the ‘need for levelling up and of inflation’.
