Putting councils in the driving seat will bring the National Bus Strategy to life

My parents live in a small county village, which due to the financial pressure faced by the local authority, had just one bus out to the largest local town centre each day.

This was not the end of the world for them – they had access to a car. But I often wondered about the disproportionate impact on the elderly and disadvantaged in my village who weren’t so lucky.
