Reports call for councils to have bigger stake in housebuilding

Two major reports today called on the Government to resource and empower councils to build homes.

Localis’ Disrupting the housing market claimed the condition of the housing market was the ‘biggest state failure of the past 40 years’ because of a ‘combination of poor decisions and no decisions by governments of all political parties and all tiers of the state'.
