‘Restrict exit payments and face mass staff exodus’

Government attempts to further limit public sector exit payments could prompt a ‘mass departure of staff,’ town hall chiefs have warned.

In its official response to a Treasury consultation which closed yesterday, the Association of Local Authority Chief Executives (ALACE) said there could be an exodus of staff who could leave before any new terms and conditions took effect.
