Review paints bleak financial picture for Northamptonshire

A damning peer review of Northamptonshire CC’s financial position has warned the authority is ‘heading towards major financial problems’.

The report by the Local Government Association peer review team, which was quietly published by the council last week, warned that ‘time is running out’ for the county, which has failed to show how it will achieve a further £60m of savings it must make during 2017/18.
