Social care must remain a local service

Despite the Government’s postponement of the forthcoming Social Care Green Paper, local government has ensured the debate on how we fund care services has continued over the summer weeks.

The County Councils’ Network published its own social care principles paper last month; which was swiftly followed by the Local Government Association’s Green Paper. Key to both of these reports is, of course, the eternal question: how to adequately fund social care.
