Spending controls for Ealing

Senior Ealing LBC councillors have agreed to introduce strict and wide-ranging controls on spending as the council seeks to balance its budget.

The controls include a recruitment freeze and a stop on new spending commitments as the council faces an estimated in-year total pressure of £50.6m, including a £12m unfunded financial pressure from before the crisis.
