Supreme Court blocks Whitehall pensions interference

Government attempts to prevent councils boycotting Israel through their pension schemes have been blocked by the Supreme Court.

Whitehall had wanted to prohibit local government pension schemes (LGPS) from using boycotts, divestment and sanctions against foreign nations and UK defence industries that went contrary to UK foreign or defence policy.
