Tackling unauthorised encampments

We’ve seen a 95% reduction in the number of unauthorised encampments that have turned up in Sandwell over the past two years – thanks to a significant shift in the how we deal with the issue.

The bill for cleaning up and securing sites, bailiffs and court costs topped £250,000 in 2016/17. What followed was a council-wide shake-up of how we respond.
