The Budget was watched with keen interest by many organisations across the public and private sector. This pivotal announcement provided us with an insight into the future of these sectors as the financial and political ramifications of COVID-19 continue to take hold.

From a local government perspective, there was little announced in the way of additional funding for councils, which will be disappointing to many as some were already struggling to make ends meet even before the pandemic hit. However, that doesn’t mean there weren't some causes for optimism shared by the chancellor.
