The North must unite after Article 50 is triggered

As Theresa May triggers Article 50 this week and sets in train the Great Repeal Bill, the consequent repatriation of powers to Whitehall will make the UK – and England in particular – the most centralised state of its size anywhere in the modern world.

This is of significant constitutional importance, but its impact will be felt first and foremost in the national economy.
