Last month, the Public Accounts Committee published a scathing report detailing the failure of the 2012 London Olympics to deliver the promised benefits of the Games – most notably in leisure activity rates.
What’s more, it pointed out the mismanagement of the £1.5bn Olympic legacy budget by Sport England, with two-thirds of funding going unaccounted for in terms of positive impacts on community leisure.
