The potential applications of innovations like robotic process automation, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality and data technology are challenging decision-makers in every sector to embrace change.

For local authorities, emerging technology can help speed up service delivery, increase accuracy, empower employees and streamline back office functions to reduce costs. It’s a brave new world, and the benefits on offer will only increase as these innovations mature. But to take full advantage, councils need to start taking action now.
