The crisis in violent youth crime: evidence from local government

Every week - seemingly - a harrowing story of violent youth crime is reported in the news. The frequency and appalling nature of the violence as reported in the media has brought the issue to the attention of the public at large.

To explore this issue from the perspective of local government, we at the New Local Government Network asked council leaders and chief executives through our quarterly leadership index survey how the issue is affecting the sector, and how councils are responding to it.
