The new challenge

When public health moved to local government, a year ago this month, it was generally welcomed, but I had concerns.

It seemed an enormous undertaking just to manage the transition successfully, never mind actually use our new responsibilities to make a positive impact on the lives of local people.

 
Firstly, there were the practical challenges of moving people, providers and commissioners to a completely different system.
