The only path out of our recruitment and retention crisis is investment in people

Nearly nine in 10 (87%) of respondents to Solace’s ‘Your Voice’ survey say workforce recruitment and retention issues are having a negative impact on their council’s performance.

High workloads and better paid jobs elsewhere (both 75%) are the biggest problems with regards to retaining staff, while better paid jobs elsewhere (73%) and not enough applicants (71%) are the two biggest issues in recruiting staff.
