Think global, act local on climate change

COP27 in Egypt last week marks the end of the UK’s COP presidency and a year since the Glasgow summit. Twelve months on, there are certainly points of continuity.

All the global trends described at COP26 have continued. The last year has been the hottest on record and we saw a stark warning from secretary-general of the United Nations, António Guterres, at the beginning of the conference that time is running out if we want to avert disaster.
