Brexit ‘loomed large’ during ‘a difficult set of elections’ last week, said local government secretary James Brokenshire.

The two main parties made big losses, with the independents and the Lib Dems gaining significant ground. The focus now ‘has to be on the delivery of the Brexit result,’ he concluded.
