Happy Christmas everyone! ‘Tis the season to drink, eat and be merry, to ignore all those lobby-group misanthropes who seem determined to ruin the fun with the usual litany of dire warnings about the perils of over-indulging.

Alcohol Focus Scotland has released cheery research arguing that festive staff get-togethers can be ‘both dangerous and embarrassing’, arguing that the office Christmas party should be scrapped in favour of ‘no-booze leisure treats’ such as going ‘bowling’ or ‘to a panto’. What joy!
