With just a few days to go before my retirement, I’ve had a little time to look back on a local government career spanning some 40 years, the last 13 of them at the helm of Waltham Forest LBC.
It’s interesting when you take a longer view – away from the day to day demands of council work – patterns emerge that, on the face of it, may have appeared at the time to have been isolated decisions.
