Local authorities must be more proactive when it comes to guidance on recycling ,writes Bob Neill

Every so often something captures the nation’s imagination to the extent that a step change in public perception is generated, forcing policy to undergo a rapid transformation with it. Although environmentalism has long played a prominent role in British politics – and is quite rightly a high priority for millions of voters - there can be no doubt that the recent series of Blue Planet II (the most watched show in 2017) has already become a touchpaper that will spark wider environmental reform, particularly in terms of recycling.
