What did we learn from the Icelandic banking crash?

The Icelandic banking crisis which began towards the end of 2008 sent shockwaves through local authorities up and down the UK, as collectively they had over £1bn invested there.

It has been a long seven years of perseverance and determination since then to recover the funds. Now the process is nearly complete, with the vast majority of funds successfully retrieved.
