Work with housing associations to build more homes, councils told

Local authorities need to push for partnerships with housing associations in order to tackle the housing crisis, the chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Housing stressed today.

Speaking at the London Councils Summit, Terrie Alafat said that a major issue for councils building homes is a lack of capacity and skills, but that this is where housing associations can step in.
