£12m cash boost for council care workers

A council plans to put an extra £12m in the hands of its 30,000 care workers by adding two per cent to its council tax.

Hertfordshire CC  said it wants to recognise the ‘highly skilled role’ its care workers play in supporting older and disabled people . ‘by investing in our care workforce where we fell it will have the greatest impact, directly into pay’.
