Birmingham bin dispute cost council £6m

Birmingham City Council has settled an industrial dispute with refuse workers that has cost the authority almost £6m.

The council has agreed to pay Unite members £3,500 each and hold an independent review into the waste collection service in return for calling off further strikes and ending legal action.
