Blow for Lancashire devo deal as leader demands greater commitment

Hopes for a Lancashire devolution deal have been dealt another blow after the county council’s leader demanded assurances other authorities were committed to the project.

Lancashire CC leader, Geoff Driver, told The MJ the fact government was now willing to consider a deal without a mayor made a combined authority ‘a possibility’ but questioned whether all councils were ‘genuinely committed’.
