Care White Paper must change ‘frightening picture’ of future

A charity has called for wholesale reform of the care sector in the Government’s promised White Paper after figures revealed the depletion of providers.

The State of Care report published by Age UK found provision of care in a perilous state, with the amount of homecare being delivered falling by three million hours between 2015 and 2018 and the worst-hit local authority losing 58% of its nursing home beds.
