Concerns raised over waste consultation length

Concerns have been raised that the consultation period on three major pieces of policy could be slashed from the standard 12 weeks.

The Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC), which represents council officers, believes the consultations on the deposit return scheme, consistency and a new extended producer responsibility for packaging could bring about the biggest changes for waste services for 30 years.
