Council bid to breach accounting rules

A request to the Government for a capitalisation direction has been made by Peterborough City Council.

Permission to use £8.9m of capital funds to cover revenue costs, which would normally breach accounting rules, is being sought following a transformation drive at the council that includes restructuring and voluntary redundancies.
