Councils have expressed deep concerns about Government plans to remove Afghan refugees from hotel accommodation amid a ‘chronic’ shortage of affordable housing.
Defence minister Johnny Mercer announced last month that up to 9,000 Afghan evacuees currently living in hotels will shortly be served notice to vacate sites, with the intention to move families into suitable housing.
