Lancashire CC’s leader is seeking to push through his preferred candidate for chief executive in the face of criticism from the Labour opposition.
Current interim Angie Ridgwell was the only candidate for later interview amid advice from recruitment consultancy Penna that a decision to merge the chief and Section 151 roles would significantly limit the talent pool from which the council could fill the £190,000 a year post.
