Writs fly over asylum crisis

Growing numbers of councils are securing injunctions preventing the use of hotels to house asylum seekers as ministers struggle to deal with an increasing backlog.

The Home Office this week continued to insist that the use of hotels was ‘a short-term solution’ as up to a dozen councils are thought to be threatening legal action.
