Councils to play 'key' role as radicals return

Local authorities will play a ‘key’ role in assessing potentially radicalised individuals and families returning from conflict zones such as Syria, a senior police officer has said.

Police and intelligence services are expecting more British nationals to return from Syria and Iraq following the break-up of Islamic State’s caliphate.
