Councils to step in if 'Homes for Ukraine' fails

Local authorities will be tasked with supporting Ukrainian refugees should ‘Homes for Ukraine’ arrangements fall through, it has been confirmed.

Under guidance newly published by the Government, statutory homelessness duties will apply to refugees if relations with sponsors break down, leaving councils to pick up the pieces.
