Councils urged to re-appraise in-sourcing

Local authorities have been urged to look at what they could do better than outsourcers in the wake of the collapse of Carillion.

The influential Institute for Government (IfG) think-tank said the collapse in 2018 demonstrated the ‘dangers to the private sector taking on contracts it could not manage’.
