Cumbria faces budget overspend due to children's services

Rising demand and costs in looked after children threaten to leave Cumbria CC with a budget gap.

Cumbria’s overspend on looked after children is on course to reach £9.6m by the end of the financial year, leaving the council with a £4.6m deficit in its overall budget.
