What does the Government really really want when it comes to devolution? The answer appears to be that it doesn’t quite know yet.
One local government source told The MJ the Government’s approach to devolution is ‘deeply unclear’, and it is ‘incredibly open to ideas’. MP for Mansfield and leader of Nottinghamshire CC Ben Bradley has wasted no time in bringing ideas to the Government in response to the invitation for those wanting to discuss early deals to formally express interest.
