Doubt over New Homes Bonus payments

A minister has refused to guarantee that £500m of New Homes Bonus payments due to councils will be honoured.

Addressing a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for District Councils, local government minister Rishi Sunak was quizzed about the future of the New Homes Bonus, an incentive that is viewed with scepticism by the Treasury.
