EXCLUSIVE: Unison to make 'bold' pay claim

Unison is poised to ask local government employers for a 10% pay rise in a ‘bold’ claim being submitted for 2020/21, The MJ has learnt.

The trade union’s proposed National Joint Council (NJC) pay claim is expected to argue that members’ pay is increased by 10% unless that fails to bring workers up to a new minimum hourly rate of £10 per hour.

Currently, the minimum NJC hourly rate is £9 per hour.
