In his initial Case for Change report published last summer, chair of the independent review of the children’s social care system Josh MacAlister said we have ‘for too long avoided knotty topics that deserve our attention’.
It is for the people who work in and around this system to ‘dig deep, step out of our comfort zone and come up with the recommendations needed’, he added.
