Hopes for a large-scale reform of council funding have been raised by the Budget, according to a senior sector figure.
Speaking at The MJ's Future Forum this afternoon, the Local Government Association’s deputy chief executive, Sarah Pickup, highlighted pledges to resurrect business rates retention and bring forward ‘proposals to improve the local government finance landscape’.
